What if my finger is wet or dirty?
The sensor handles damp and cold fingers well, but a soaked or muddy fingertip can fail to read. That is why we recommend registering at least three fingers when you set it up — if one does not read, another will.
What happens if the battery runs out?
It stays locked. A red light warns you well before that point, and a full charge lasts up to 6 months. You can also unlock it while it is charging over USB-C.
Can anyone else open it?
Only fingerprints you have registered yourself. You can store up to 10, and day-to-day there is no code, no app and no Bluetooth — nothing to intercept remotely. There is also a physical emergency reset described in the manual, for the rare case you are locked out of your own fingerprints, but it only works with the lock in your hands.
Is it strong enough to leave outdoors?
The body is zinc alloy with a hardened steel shackle and a weather-sealed build, made to resist cutting and prying and to live outside all year. Like any padlock, it deters and delays — it is not a substitute for a safe.
How long does delivery take?
Shipping is free on all U.S. orders and delivery typically takes 10-15 business days. You get a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
What if I want to return it?
You have 30 days from delivery. If it arrives damaged, faulty or wrong, send us a photo or a short video and we will replace it or refund you in full — you will not pay return shipping, and in most cases we will not even ask for the item back.
If you simply changed your mind, the padlock needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and return shipping is on you. Either way, write to support@brightaven.com or use our contact page with your order number. We reply within one business day.
